The Garden City

Singapore is known as "The Garden City" because of its lush vegetation and tropical plants. The city is very proud of this title and makes endless strides to keep everything impeccably groomed and spotless. Littering is punishable by law, there is no gum to be found anywhere and we even witnessed the construction trucks washing the dust off of their tires before they could enter onto the highway.

As pristine as Singapore is during the day, the city comes alive and shows her true beauty at night. Each building seems to have its own artistic design and they all light up when dark sets in to put on a fantastic show. One night we had a fabulous dinner at an Italian restaurant overlooking the Singapore River. The entire walls of the restaurant were made of glass and our table sat directly across the river from the Marina Bay Sands, the three buildings with the giant ship on top of them. Halfway through our dinner a laser light show started going off in and along the riverbank. It was beautiful! The food was amazing and my date was gorgeous! And to top it off, on our walk along the river we were greeted with a full moon. This moon has always been such a source of peace and symbolism in my life. Having her with us in Singapore was more than just a coincidence it was God's blessing over us.

That same night we were able to see the local nightlife as we went to the famous nightclub Pangea. And I quickly figured out that by far the ONLY thing that people do in Singapore is shop! It's too bad we both overpacked, having eight bags between the two of us (LOL), or we really could have done some damage!
